Good demo! i love the arcade aesthetic and the bonk mechanic that added depth to the movement that can potentially save a run! Looking forward to the official release.
This is the best game I've ever played on itch. Looking forward to seeing the official version on steam or other platforms like ps5 soon. I was totally captured by this game and I spent a lot of time playing this game on this webpage.Help No Brake is very challenging, the player can't brake and can only complete the levels by precise steering, acceleration and jumping. The control system is very sensitive, so when I couldn't pass the level, I wouldn't blame the control system, I would just feel like I wasn't good enough. Also the screen shaking is very immersive. The gameplay also boasts a unique perspective, combining racing speeds with platform jumping in a very clever way. There's also a small detail in the game where the cars leave drift marks on the platforms, and even if the player fails the level, the marks will still be there when they restart. This makes me a bit “anxious”, but the anxiety is positive and makes me want to pass the level even more.
I didn't break it, but I do agree my computer would be happier if crisscross was deleted from the entire game's code. I spent so long on it. The one that's really annoying though is the 19th level, the heart one. I have been on it for 1832h and can't find the finish line. Please help.
Very solid game and starts to feel great when you get the hang of it.
heres some changes i would like to see ( in my opinion )
1. increased coyote time (I'm sure a bit more would go a long way considered how many short platform sequences there are)
2. i really really really hate how the end of level trigger is not the entire floor and so you can basically "beat" a whole level and then land slightly to the right of the finish checker square and still drive off a cliff. it feels unfair and a brutal way to lose in some of the harder levels
3. less single square platforms in the later levels and some more interesting windy roads
4. some of the more difficult levels are artificially even harder by the camera limited views so maybe it could zoom out a bit or do a better job of showing incoming platforms / hazards
5. better sound effects for hitting wall / better sound design in general
6. variety in visual level design / colors
7. increased visual depth of non driveable area (is it lava?)
i love this game i dont even know when i started playing but now that i've completed the game i can say that this was one of the best indie web game i've played
I appreciate that there's a web build since I'm a mac user. I think it's a great game for people like me who like fast paced reflex games. It's also really polished!
I think you made this game a little too shaky and difficult to control. I WOULD love that there were no brakes, but this isn't a racing game. It's a puzzle game with poor controls and shaky view. When you make the game difficult to enjoy, just for the challenge, it stops being fun and becomes frustrating, instead. Why not put more effort into making it challenging through attention to detail and fine-tuning instead of relying on making it difficult to see or control? If the fine-tuning you do is really to make it difficult to _play_ then it's your fault if no one wants to play your game anymore. There's less sense of accomplishment and more shame in spending so much time to get a level by fluke that it takes all satisfaction away.
That's a clean platforming game! These clean animations and details make this game fun to play. It is hard for sure, that's why I got stuck pretty early on. I guess most core thing in this game is to get used to car's movement. Pretty awesome game!
found this game on r/godot and really loved playing it for the last couple hours. I'm excited for the Steam debut!
I'm also here to report a bug where, if you restart a level on the same frame that you hit the finish line, the level resets, and then marked as complete, meaning you have a 0:00 time (Linux 1.2)

About the first point, there's no coyote time at all, but even if you boost way before the cliff, you still jump at the edge.

This game is so good that I don't remember when i started playing it, I can't stop now.
This is a really good game and I enjoyed it. One thing for me is that its a little hard to control but other than that its a perfect game!
So fun. MORE LEVELS PLS

It's good but the excessive shaking makes the game lag
Def make more games tho
you can turn off the shaking in the options btw
So good.
game broke
IF YOU'RE GETTING "null function or function signature mismatch" TRY OPENING THE GAME ON AN INCOGNITO TAB.
game says to bub
oh ok
The game is so fun, i like it. I feel like it would be perfect for speedrunners

it just depends on what type of games you like. I personally like these kinds of games, and some people do.

yeah thats a known bug, you sadly have to redownload the game to remove the 0:00 time if you have the downloaded version (and if you want to ofc).
